Bears in Space

‘Goofiness is next to godliness….blissful’
– New York Times

‘A batshit-crazy comedy puppet show about a couple of bears in space…a riotous, hilarious, trippy journey to infinity and beyond’
– TIME OUT  ★★★★

‘An otherworldly hoot…leaves you feeling the universe has been kept safe for funny business’

– Washington Post

‘You get the sense that this is something really special for Collapsing Horse, whose clear love for their craft is a thrill to watch’.
– The Stage ★★★★

“Razor-sharp ridiculousness and a dry self-awareness make Collapsing Horse’s hour truly great. It may be “literally a show about bears in space”, but Bears is simply so much more.”
– Fest ★★★★

‘a play that’s practically bursting with ideas; a honey pot of comedy, thick with wit and absurdity…the sheer glee of the whole thing knows no bounds’
– Broadway Baby ★★★★

“Definitely one of the must-sees of this year’s Fringe… be immersed in the illusions created by the entire, ridiculously excellent, group of young performers.”

Bears in Space is wry, highly energetic show with a heart. It centres around two cosmonaut bears on a spaceship hurtling toward the impossibly distant limits of the universe, and the villainous beings who chase them. Through their renowned puppetry, comic skills and music, one of Ireland’s most exciting theatre companies, Collapsing Horse, consider the perils and wonders of a journey across space and time to nowhere.
